Warm West Dart
My brother James got in the water first and immediately announced it was warmer than the sea had been the day before (which had been pretty cold). I didn't believe him. But when I got in I realised he was right. We were in a wide, slow pool on the West Dart, which gets the sun all day. It was pure pleasure swimming upstream, surrounded by minnows and small trout, and observing the outlandish weed, all suffused with sunlight dappling through the water. It was hard to drag ourselves out and back into the normal, land-based world. Sigh....
